MEGAN RUBY

Also known as Megan Ruby Walsh, Megan is a Classically Trained Soprano. She is, however, well able to cover most genre: Classical, Musical Theatre, Country & Western, Rock, Pop Music, Easy Listening, Irish Traditional, etc.

SHORT BIO: 

2019-2022: Toured the World with the Grammy Nominated group CELTIC WOMAN:  Highlights: Recording the Album "Ancient Lands" and the TV special at Johnstown Castle, Performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre to 9000 people, Performing at the London Palladium, Performing in 49 of the States of America as well as in South America, Alaska, Canada, Europe and the UK.

2023: Performed within Ireland  on the "Candlelight Concerts" with world renowned Frank McNamara, arranger, conductor, composer, and pianist, as well as performing with the Celtic World Forum, sharing the stage with the cream of Ireland's traditional music artists.

2014-2016: Toured as a soloist with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland: Highlights: Performing in Carnegie Hall, performed at the Opening ceremony for the Irish Centennial Commemoration of 1916 Easter Rising 

2016-2019: Studied classical music at the Royal Academy Of Music in London.

2005-2014: Completed Grade 8 (with Distinction), Royal Irish Academy of Music, (Classical, Musical Theatre, Popular Music and Music Theory).

I wrote this song for my Aunt and Uncle. In 2020 my uncle died suddenly and, because of Covid, my Aunt never got to say goodbye. This song is all about never truly having to say goodbye because we get to see the people we lose in our dreams.

  • Megan had performed in many prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado), the Palladium Theatre, (London), the Royal Festival Hall (London), Westminster Abbey (London), the Oddysey (Belfast), The RDS (Dublin), the National Concert Hall (Dublin),The Helix (Dublin), the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and the National Convention Centre, (Dublin), to name but a few. 

  • A seasoned performer, Megan has been on stage from a very young age.  As a keen participant in the Irish Musical Society arena, Megan performed in many roles, both as lead and ensemble. She played "Cosette" in Les Miserables, "Mary Magdalene" in Jesus Christ Superstar, “Ida”  (Honk), “Tracy” (Hairspray), “Sour Kangaroo” (Seussical), “Gabriella” (High School Musical), “Grizabella” (Cats), plus many other shows in supporting roles. She has done tribute performances for the likes of "Christine" (Phantom of the Opera), "Maria" (West Side Story),  "Maria" (The Sound of Music) and many others.

  • In 2014, at age 17, Megan won "The Soloist" competition with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland.

  • Megan was honoured to be selected as a featured artist for the AIMS (Association of Irish Musical Societies) 50th Anniversary Concert at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin where she performed as a soloist and with the ensemble.

  • Megan has been involved in many Fund Raising events, the most notable being the Irish Rugby Football Union's Charitable Trust and the 'Lily Mae' charity (Tiny Dancer) which was supported by Elton John. 

  • Megan was the holder of the Arklow Challenge Cup and the Kerryman’s Association Lieder Cup (Arklow Music Festival 2015).​​
